John O’Connor
Hi, I’m John O’Connor, president at JSO Digital.
I’m a non-practicing attorney, entrepreneur, and writer with more than 10 years of experience working in media and tech. I divide my life as an entrepreneur into a series of 4-5 year projects, and my current passion is diving into the world of streaming sporting events at a site we created with the JSO Digital team called Streaming Stadium. At Streaming Stadium, we are building software and content that will help sports fans start streaming any game in 15 minutes or less. Having grown up in one of the best sports towns in America, Detroit, building Streaming Stadium allows me to marry the disciplines of SEO, content, and building software, with my lifelong love of sports.
Past work
In a former life, I worked as an associate at Alston & Bird in their Global Finance Practice Group, before starting my own plaintiff’s practice at my law firm, The O’Connor Law Firm. I was honored to represent hundreds of property owners in litigation that became the largest mortgage fraud lawsuit in North Carolina state history.
It was the success of my mass tort practice that opened the door for consulting. Colleagues were curious how I had sourced such a large case, with many clients coming through the internet, and began to hire me to work with their firms. To this day, many of our consulting clients at JSO are law firms.
The JSO business model
Since founding JSO Digital in 2012, I’ve worked with over 100 clients on a range of different digital projects. My team is proud of the longstanding relationships we have with our clients.
In addition to the work we do for a small roster of clients at JSO, we also launch in-house web properties, and over the years, these “digital assets” have become a growing piece of our business.
With the team at JSO, and using the same system we use to grow client sites, I have created multiple startups including ‘brellaBox (now closed), Gene Food, LeafScore, and Streaming Stadium.
Why I work
My most important role in life is as a Dad. I was raised with a “family first” approach, and my family is a large part of what gives meaning to my work.
Fun fact: I appeared on season 7 of Shark Tank to pitch ‘brellaBox.
No B.S.
I enjoy the process of growing businesses, and pride myself on a straightforward, no B.S. approach.
If you’re interested in discussing the possibility of working together, we are accepting a limited number of new clients in 2022, and we’d love to hear from you.
