Hi, I’m John O’Connor, president at JSO Digital. I’m a non-practicing attorney, entrepreneur, and health enthusiast with more than 10 years of experience working in media and tech.
How I got into digital marketing
In my time as an attorney, I saw both sides of the legal world by working for Alston & Bird in their Global Finance Practice Group, but also by having my own plaintiff’s practice for several years. I was honored to represent hundreds of property owners in litigation that became the largest mortgage fraud lawsuit in North Carolina state history.
It was the success of my mass tort practice that opened the door for consulting. Colleagues were curious how I had sourced such a large case, with many clients coming through the internet, and began to hire me to work with their firms. To this day, many of our consulting clients at JSO are law firms.
Since founding JSO Digital in 2012, I’ve worked with over 100 clients on a range of different digital projects. My team is proud of the longstanding relationships we have with our clients.
My experience as an entrepreneur
In addition to the work we do for a small roster of clients at JSO, we also launch in-house web properties.
Over the years, I have created multiple startups including ‘brellaBox, Gene Food, and LeafScore.
Why I work
My most important role in life is as a Dad. I was raised with a “family first”approach, and my family is a large part of what gives meaning to my work.
Fun fact: I appeared on season 7 of Shark Tank to pitch ‘brellaBox.
I enjoy the process of growing businesses, and pride myself on a straightforward, no B.S. approach.
